It’s December 18th – do you feel busy yet?
Chances are good that you do. You are running around after work, meeting up with friends and family, planning trips out of town, and if you’re into the big holiday meals, than you are looking forward to the preparation of food!
This is the time of year that we jump out of our normal routines. We don’t go to the gym as much, we eat a little more sugar, we stay up a little later, the list goes on and on.
Guess what else we forget? We might not be journaling like we normally do!
I don’t know about you, but I feel a whole lot better when I journal on a consistent basis. Like going to the gym, I need to work those process muscles and use my journal to keep focused on the events of my life in terms of clarity.
Keeping my journal through the holidays helps me to stop and smell the roses. I think of it as settling during a time that might otherwise be busy. After I’ve been out running errands, it’s so nice to sit with my journal for just a few minutes. I dump the chaotic energy on the page and it helps me stay calm and happy at home.
