What will you make happen in your life?
That’s the question to answer when you consider working with a coach.
Some of the things I’ve heard:
Write more
Start or grow my business
Find more time for me
Learn to keep a journal
Connect with my daughter
Increase my productivity
Coaching always starts out with something that
you want to be, do, or have. A goal or series of goals
that you either openly or secretly want to come into
your life to make it richer. Fuller. More meaningful.
But, do you want to know the secret?
It’s not just about what you want to be, do, or have. It’s not just the writing, the productivity, or connections with others.
It’s about what you feel as you live your life.
I know it sounds a little out there, but don’t worry, I won’t go all woo-woo on you.
Just a little.
Work with a coach is about building a connection to what matters most – you. Its about deciding what you want to experience and then diving headfirst not into an elbow-jabbing race to get it, but instead focusing inward on who you want to be as you grow. Its about looking through a new lens at where you are now and creating a path to where you want to be.
The coaching I do is about creating a joy-filled life and living it on your terms.
Do my clients and I get stuff done? Hell yes we do!
But while we’re tackling the list of the actions necessary to reach your goals, we keep the focus on making sure that you see the connection between the work we are doing, the results you want, and the life experience that you’re creating.
Who do I work with?
I work with really cool women who have really cool stuff they want to do.
Start businesses that make a difference. Write books. Travel. Spend more time with the people who are most important to them.
They want to live a life that matters. And they don’t want to wait to get it.
These really cool women are often mothers, but not always. They almost always have a lot of responsibility. Everything from managing a household, to juggling part-time jobs, to full-fledged careers that require more than 40-hours a week of their precious time.
Does this sound like you?
Whatever their responsibilities, there are a few common themes.
They choose that feeling joy and satisfaction on a daily basis is the life they want. No more feeling dissatisfied with the cards they’ve been dealt. They are ready to call the shots and make change.
They desire a higher quality of life. And no, that doesn’t mean that our work together is all about how to make more money. Sometimes that happens, but what I really mean by a higher quality of life is that my clients know that life is a gift. One they regularly stop to appreciate.
They are ready to adopt practices and habits that will help them to stay present. Calm. Centered. Aware. Thankful.
My clients recognize they are more effective in cultivating a unique life experience when they work with a coach. They take their sessions and work in between sessions seriously. When they are feeling like they have nothing to report, or nothing to get coached on, they don’t cancel their sessions. Often this is the time we need coaching most!
The clients I work with are dedicated to lasting, positive change. They know that personal growth is a process and they do the work willingly. Do they have days when they would rather not? Absolutely! My job as a coach is to teach you to feel what you feel and be honest with yourself, then find a way to move forward with what you say is most important to you.
Are you wondering if coaching is right for you? Read over the questions below and see what you think:
1. I start my days with intentions, but once I get into the swing of the day, I find myself putting out fires and sometimes feeling like I’m at the whim of what other people need.
2. On any given day, I can be found staring off into space when I say that I’m “working.” Sometimes my “work” time is the only quiet I get.
3. I may not be the best at asking for help.
4. Sometimes I have an idea or even a plan and nothing ever happens with it. I don’t have the time, I’m not sure of my next steps, or I get easily distracted.
5. I often lack the energy to work on what’s important to me.
6. I have a fantasy that my kids will be able to be whatever they want to be, because they see me be whatever I want to be.
If you answered yes to two or more of these, working with a coach will help to align your energy and efforts with your goals and get you creating the life you crave.
